What is white balance?

White balance helps to balance the light within a photograph. Ultimately, using white balance helps to get the colors in the photograph as accurate as your eyes see them. There are different white balance settings to accommodate for different sources of light.

Why is it important to set your white balance?

It is important to set your white balance so that the colors in the image are as close to how you see them. Setting your white balance ensures that the image will have the most accurate colors as possible, if done correctly.

How do you set a custom white balance?

To set a custom white balance, first change the white balance setting on the camera to "custom". Then, in this white balance, take a properly lit photo of something white using manual mode and manual focus. This should completely fill the frame. Then, under menu, find the custom white balance setting. Select the white photo to be used as the custom white balance.
